I’m very excited to announce that the West 5 Discovery Centre is now open to the public!
This state-of-the art interactive space is designed to showcase the sophistication behind the science of West 5. We’ll use this space to educate, to entertain and to share our community vision and values with your family.
When you arrive, a virtual hologram of Dean West, the cartoon father of the West 5 family, will welcome you. As you set out into the space, the Visionary Path installation connects all the exhibits together. The contemporary plywood tree decor and green turf on the “ribbon” gives you a real sense of being embraced in nature and the digital viewbooks give you a glimpse of the attractions and the activities that give West 5 its vibrancy.
Kick off your discovery of West 5 with a virtual reality experience that transports you into Kains Woods. Interact with the environment to learn about the flora and fauna that are native to the area, and even play fetch with your furry companion.
At the Sustainability Wall, you can learn all about how this community is reducing environmental impact in terms of water, waste and energy. You can customize your experience by using the touchscreen to select exactly which topics interest you the most, whether it’s Net Zero, rainwater harvesting, electric vehicles or any of the other SMART technologies throughout West 5.
Next, the augmented reality scale model of West 5 highlights all the building and features of the community. Browse through all the shops, services, green spaces, residences and technology that are unique to West 5.
To really picture yourself at West 5, I invite you to strike a pose at our Photo Booth! Choose your favourite West 5 backdrops, say, “cheese” and share your photo with your friends on social media with #West5Living. Be sure to look up and watch for your photo projecting on to the ribbon!
The Discovery Centre is such a great place, we even have a special spot for kids to have fun and to develop a passion for this great technology. I can’t wait to see you and your family discovering the future with West 5!
